Bubble Wrap and Blazing Hot Lesbians
Friday, 04 February 2011

I think the light over my shoulder gives it a heavenly, spiritual icon sort of feel.  What can I say?  I was home sick with a webcam and 12 yards or bubble wrap.  It was bound to happen.  The piece of art that came swaddled in the bubble wrap looks gorgeous on my wall.

Apparently I'm industrious when I'm sick.  Not only did I write some new lyrics while fighting/feeding my cold at home, but I hung the artwork, setup Vonage and AppleTV, went on a brief home organization shopping spree, made Jell-O, and discovered a new favorite TV show.

Fairly Legal is my new TV show obsession.  Have you seen it yet?  It's a brand new series on USA, and is pretty good, for just a few epsiodes in.  What hooked me in was the star Sarah Shahi.  She first grabbed my attention on The L Word as "Carmen," and YOWZE, she is hot.  I'm hoping they go deeper with her character here as the season sets in.  So far she's interesting, but still the stock flawed yet well-intetioned and winning female lead.  And when it comes to that girl, Mary McCormack on In Plain Sight has 'em all beat.

It's a good thing I didnt suffocate in the bubble wrap, huh?!

Score: Common Cold, A Billion. Phil, Goose Egg
Thursday, 03 February 2011

Some days the virus wins.  Today the common cold kicked my Kleenex-killing booty from here to Snotsville, and for the 4th day in a row.  Unholy.  I still got my licks in, though. showed my defiance by working 13 hour days all week.  If you're missing the logic there, you're on the right track.

The cold is no good for the rehearsal schedule for my big concert on March 12th, but it gives me plenty of time to imagine through the show and play with some new song arrangements in my head, change some keys, etc.  With me, there is no wasted time.  Except for the 15 minutes I spent trying to watch Le Divorce this afternoon.  As much as it pains me to speak poorly of anything featuring Kate Hudson...Le Snooze

The March 12 show will include the debut of a couple new songs.  It's a special thing to introduce the newborns to the world.  They're pink and wrinkled and squidgy-cute, much like Jessica Simpson.

The Kleenex kalls...

I just ate a plate of super-sugary French pastries and then chased it with an Ambien.  This could get interesting.

New Shoes, New Album

I run now.  I’m a runner.  It’s sort of in my blood, my genetics, as both my parents are stellar athletes.  Really.  My mom was a high school track star and my dad has spent over half his life running the length of a basketball court as a player and referee.  They’re machines and I love them.  I was the fat kid until 17 years old, and then even though I became thin it didn’t mean that I was healthy.  I dropped the weight, but I didn’t start running until 2 months ago.  It was the combination of being 30 years old and being a rabid fan of The Biggest Loser, and one night it occurred to me that running a mile, or several at one time, is something that a 30 year old man should just be able to do.  If the pals on The Biggest Loser can do it, so can I.
